The Classic Season of Mastery Beta will be updated today, October 19th with a new patch which includes a number of fixes and changes, including the following:
With the following changes, the Season of Mastery Beta is now available for testing: The monsters in Onyxia’s Lair and Molten Core have been tweaked:
- The health of all animals has been improved.
- Several mechanics that were deleted from specific bosses in early versions of World of Warcraf have been reinstated in both raids.
Notes from the developers: The modifications to the group experience in Stratholme and Maraudon are the first set of improvements in Season of Mastery aimed at preventing “boosting” or “powerleveling” of low-level characters. Many ways of kiting, collecting, and killing big groups of opponents have become considerably more risky and inefficient as a result of these changes, which should be mostly unnoticeable to parties that finish this content at an acceptable level with an appropriate group composition. Please keep in mind that in Stratholme and Maraudon, auras that give immunity to slows and roots may be reset if a monster is hit by a “hard” CC like Polymorph or Shackle Undead. In addition to the aforementioned improvements, we intend to open Molten Core and Onyxia’s Lair for raid testing on Thursday, October 21 at 2:00 p.m. PDT. To help with this, on Thursday morning, before the raids go live, we’ll make level 60 character templates with Rare grade dungeon gear accessible.
