Blizzard has released a hotfix for Diablo II that addresses two issues with the most recent patch. The first was an issue where players were able to lose their characters if they logged out during a multiplayer game. The second was an issue where players who had previously lost their characters could not log back in after the patch, which is now fixed.
Blizzard has released a hotfix to fix the character loss and lockout issues for Diablo II: Resurrected. The update is expected to go live later today. Read more in detail here: diablo 2 resurrected offline character gone.
Despite the fact that offline play remained unaffected, many players experienced character lockouts and rollbacks yesterday, with server instability making online play virtually difficult for much of the day. Although the majority of the problems have been resolved, and Blizzard has issued a second statement warning users not to recreate their lost characters using the same in-game name, some players are still having trouble starting or joining online games. Although Blizzard is currently working to solve problems with game instability and players being unable to start or join games, the forthcoming patch claims to permanently cure these character difficulties.
Good day, everyone!
We’d like to highlight our team’s main priorities for Day 2 of our trip as we continue to watch Diablo II: Resurrected’s debut.
Some players have complained that their offline characters have vanished or that their progress has been lost, and we think we’ve found the source of the problem. We created an article explaining how to avoid losing offline character progress to prevent this from affecting your experience. We plan to provide a permanent patch for this today for PC and soon after for consoles.
Our staff is also trying to address the problem of character lockouts. A large number of these characters have previously been unlocked. This procedure is expected to take a few hours to finish.
We’ve been reviewing actions that have stopped players from being able to establish or join game lobbies for individuals who have been unable to participate in those sessions. We’re working hard to find a solution to these problems.
In addition, our staff has been keeping track of gamers’ uptime all around the world. As part of our efforts to make Diablo II: Resurrected as stable as possible, we’ve been examining crash complaints across all platforms.
Finally, we’ve been seeing a variety of gameplay problems and comments, and we’ll give a more detailed update on those things once we finish with the above.
Please continue to report problems in the Bug Report thread if you find any. If you run into any technical difficulties, please post them in the Technical Support thread.
