In a recent blog post, Blizzard Entertainment announced that they would be implementing changes to the way team compositions are chosen in Arena mode. The blog post stated that the new system will allow players to choose between three different types of teams when creating their comps.

The tbc arena comps tier list is a list of team compositions that are used in the first season of the Classic Arena. It includes both top and bottom tier teams.

With Arena Season 2 starting tomorrow, Wowhead has chosen to examine the demographics for Arena Season 1 and Rank 1 Team Compositions using data supplied by Drustvar.com.

2v2 Arena Season 1

Undead Rogues are at the top of the Drustvar Demographics, as most players expected. Druids make up a larger portion of the ladder than Priests, which is unexpected given that Druids usually improve with each season while Priests excel early in the Burning Crusade.

Drustvar also includes a ladder with comprehensive information for each bracket, which we can utilize to dissect team compositions that reached the Rank 1 cutoff. Arena Season 1 2v2 NA had a Rank 1 of 2867, with 33 teams qualifying. The top ranked team in Arena Season 1 2v2 EU was 2886, with 46 teams qualifying.

Rogue Priests dominated the whole ladder, winning the most popular Team Composition award among Rank 1 teams. Fear, Sap, and Blind are all on distinct diminishing returns, thus Rogue Priest has a lot of synergy. Rogue Mage offers a similar advantage, but with a considerably higher damage burst due to the Mage’s Shatter Combos. The 2v2 Ladder will most likely be dominated by rogues for the duration of the Burning Crusade Classic. In the 2v2 ladder, the EU had a significantly higher representation for Warrior Druid than the NA.

3v3 Arena Season 1

According to Drustvar Demographics, Druids are the most popular class in 3v3 Arena. Shamans also advance in the 3v3 bracket, passing Hunters. Warriors are now the second most popular DPS class, behind only Rogues.

Drustvar also includes a ladder with comprehensive information for each bracket, which we can utilize to dissect team compositions that reached the Rank 1 cutoff. Arena Season 1 3v3 NA has a Rank 1 of 2708 and 15 teams qualified. The top ranked team in Arena Season 1 3v3 EU was 2772, with 18 teams qualifying.

Rogue Mage Priest, often known as “RMP,” is the most common 3v3 Team composition, accounting for one-third of the teams who qualified for Rank 1. Only one Warrior Warlock Druid, or “WLD,” qualified for Rank 1 in Season 1 in both NA and EU, which surprised many players. Will we see more WLD in Season 2? WLD usually grows stronger with each passing season; will we see more WLD in Season 2?

5v5 Arena Season 1

Shamans have a stronghold in this bracket, according to Drustvar Demographics, as the second most popular class in 5v5. Paladins are the least well-represented class in 5v5 and have traditionally been a powerful class, thus it’s odd that so few compete in NA and EU.

Drustvar also includes a ladder with comprehensive information for each bracket, which we can utilize to dissect team compositions that reached the Rank 1 cutoff. Arena Season 1 5v5 NA ranked 2504th, with 5 teams qualifying. The first place finisher in Arena Season 1 5v5 EU was 2527, with 6 teams qualifying.

Only one Paladin, the legendary Borngood, qualified for Rank 1 in the globe, despite Paladin being the least represented Class in almost every bracket. In the NA 5v5 bracket, you’ll mainly see “Eurocomp” Rogue, Mage, Warlock, Priest, Druid, and “2345” Warrior, Mage, Shaman, Priest, Paladin, with some teams choosing Druid over Paladin in Season 1. Almost every team in the EU featured a Mage, Lock, Shaman, or Priest combo, which was not present in any of the Rank 1 NA teams.

The tbc arena guide is a website that can be used for finding out the team compositions in the first season of the Classic Arena.
