The team behind Limit, a new MMO that’s built on blockchain technology and made by gamers for gamers.
The “complexity limit raid leader” is a new feature that Team Liquid has introduced to the game. It allows players to set a limit on how complex their raids are, so they can plan ahead and avoid being overwhelmed by large groups of enemies.
With the signing of Limit for World of Warcraft, Liquid Team has declared their entry into the MMO genre.

Announcement from Liquid Team
The following is a statement from Liquid Team about the purchase of Limit Guild for World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV.
Today, Liquid Team is tremendously proud to announce the signing of Limit Guild, one of the largest signings in TL history. Limit are legends in the World of Warcraft raiding community, having achieved World Firsts in Castle Nathria and Ny’alotha raids. Led by Smith, Max “Maximum”, Limit Guild is one of the world’s most popular raiding guilds, with over 30 million viewed hours as they raced to make PvE history.
The acquisition of Limit Guild forms a major pillar of Liquid MMO: a new gaming vertical within Liquid Team that will tackle one of the world’s most popular genres — massively multiplayer online role-playing games. From the mythical regions of Azeroth, to the boundless wonder of Eorzea, Liquid Team is going all-in on MMOs with investments in players, content creators, staff and more. Our design philosophy for Liquid MMO is inspired by fantasy worlds, incorporating elements that might be found in the skylights of The Crystarium or the gates of Silvermoon.
The acquisition Limit Guild — accounting for 40+ players, coaches and staff — will form the foundation of Liquid Team’s entry into World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV Online, with eyes on Riot Games’ future MMO offering. As the guild retires its Limit branding to become Liquid, Maximum will also acquire an equity position in Liquid Team and become a minority owner, overseeing how Liquid approaches the MMOs of today and tomorrow.
WoW Patch 9.2 is on the horizon, and with it, another fierce Race to World First. Liquid Team will be hosting 35 or more of our new raiders in one location as they chase glory within the Sepulcher of the First Ones, producing an expansive, upgraded Race to World First broadcast that will showcase every boss attempt along the way. More details about Liquid Team’s approach to the Race to World First broadcast to follow in the next few weeks.
In joining forces with the best raiding guild around, Liquid Team has a tremendous opportunity to extend our leadership from esports into the global MMO ecosystem. As we venture forth, we’re eager to apply Liquid Team’s values of diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, accessibility, and justice within our short term and long term plans. In addition to her responsibilities as Liquid MMO General Manager, Azorea will spearhead the creation of an advisory council of women in the space, aimed at developing resources and strategies that enable more women to grow as expert players. With Azorea’s expertise, Liquid Team will identify Cutting Edge raiding guilds led by women to shine a light on their communities, offer mentorship and create safer spaces for women to thrive.
This is only the beginning of Liquid MMO — we haven’t even touched the plans Liquid Team had for Liquid MMO PvP, future titles and how we plan to involve the community. Liquid Team is in this for the long haul, and can’t wait to work with more folks who share our belief in the space.
Statements by Raiders
Some of its raiders have also spoken out over the deal.
Atlaschi, Omeed “Atlas”
I’m thrilled to be a part of Liquid Team and look forward to further establishing our spot as the best raiding guild in World of Warcraft.
Arean, Kevin “Thdlock”
Super excited to be joining Liquid Team. I remember many years ago when I would watch LCS games and watch Liquid Team and now I am a part of it and to me it’s honestly pretty insane. Excited to be competing under the Liquid brand and meeting all of those associated with it.
Cresswell, Cameron “Maevey”
I’m super excited to be joining Liquid Team as part of their MMO roster. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve as a team under Liquid. This partnership can only bring great things to the MMO scene and I cannot wait to see the impact it has. Liquid as an organization promotes winning in every game they play which lines up well with my goal which is to always be winning in the race to world first. It is very exciting to be a part of a new organization lining up with a new raid tier and I hope we can perform our best and win.
Bannick, Kevin “Atrocity”
The biggest trait that swayed us towards Liquid Team was their mentality. They truly care about winning. Receiving the opportunity to play for an organization that cares about victory as much as our team was impossible to pass up on. It tells us that our hard work was recognized and motivates us to work even harder. Our goal now will be to continue the legacy Liquid Team has created of being the winningest organization ever in esports.
Moran, Luke “Tagzz”
Our team is extremely happy to be joining Liquid Team, and are excited to see what our combined efforts can achieve in the competitive MMO space. Our goals and values aligned from the start, and we look forward to bringing those same values to the community.
