Trivia: WoW Sets Done & FFXIV Heavensward Complete

Last updated September 20, 2021 | Follow us on Pinterest

The game of Warcraft has been around for nearly two decades. With the release of World of Warcraft: Legion, the franchise is in its final chapter. What does this mean for players?

The what expansion was transmog added to wow is a question that many people have been wondering. The answer to this question is The Burning Crusade.

Another week has passed, another reset has occurred, and another assessment of my actions has occurred.

WoW

Most significantly, the plate toons’ Sanctum of Domination is complete, and they’ve been benched! This was also the last set to finish:

Well, I’m not through with the raid yet, but Sanctum is no longer the main focus. Remnant and Sylvanas are the only ones that can obtain Pins the Rogue her daggers, and despite the fact that I have three hunters, none of them have yet succeeded with the bow and rifle from Soulrender and Guardian.

I’ve finished all of Korthia’s quest sets, so I can stop stalking them on a daily basis:

I liked the collection quest design: it was fun to check for mog quests every day, they had an anti-frustration mechanism built in (it’s a guaranteed unlearned piece on every alt and quest), and global quests were simple to accomplish – as were all Korthia missions. Whoever created this should be rewarded with a raise.

So, to complete the content, all that’s left is the normal Renown questing and earning anima/offerings/stygia at a leisurely rate. I’m not even close to that – even if I decide not to aim for any level 3 buildings but Fae, there’s still a lot of lazy grinding ahead of me. However, both anima and offerings bring in good money; all you have to do now is get started. To avoid burning out with all-alts tossed into the furnace, I believe I’ll tackle an armor type or a Covenant at a time.

I certainly want Exalted with Death’s Advance on at least four Covenant toons, I’m not sure whether I’ll complete the On the Offensive assault accomplishment, which is needed to buy mount recolors, and I’m willing to do Archivists Codex Exalted once for achievement.

Overall, my current patch responsibilities are coming to an end, and I’m returning to 9.0. activities that can finally be tackled.

FFXIV

I completed the Heavensward expansion, including Azys Lla’s side raid arc, and it was all it promised to be. While the main expansion narrative material is… alright, the patches that continue and finish the tale, as well as the bridge to the next expansion, seem like they were created by completely different individuals.

It’s not like they set the stage beforehand. Epic things and resolves occur in the main narrative as well, but when you get to the patches, it’s as if someone flipped a switch. It’s as if a blank canvas is suddenly filled with color. The story grows increasingly Game of Thrones-like, with twists and turns, heavy emotional underpinnings, and awe-inspiring epicness, as well as tears and empathy for the characters, both good and evil.

Criticism: Despite the conclusion of the Dragonsong War, I continue to be skeptical about the war. It’s not so much the fight as it is the conclusion. Despite the fact that we destroyed the warmongering warmonger dragon who inspired and started the millennium-long war, it left a lasting negative impact on me. We’ve been told that dragons don’t forgive and don’t forget, and that this is why they battle, as if it occurred yesterday.

They immediately responded, “OK, we’ll let it go.” Huh? So, in the end, they didn’t give a damn? Or were they so spineless that they would only do what the dragon in command told them to do, not caring enough to carry on without him? It’s illogical, to say the least. They want vengeance, they’re getting it, and then they say, “nah, alright, we’re fine.” Yes, the people of Ishgard kingdom had their turning points, but nothing similar occurred in dragon camp — nothing fate-changing that caused them to abandon the battle – especially against their own kind.

However, there were no doubts about the Ishgard portion of the tale; it was fantastic. The Warriors of Darkness tale was interesting and had a lot of heartfelt moments. The concept of balancing Light and Dark is fantastic, and I’ve been hoping for something similar to be introduced in World of Warcraft for a long time. Uncontrolled Light is also wicked, as alternative Draenor’s Yrel in the game and Turalyon from the pre-Shadowlands book have previously shown. I’m curious whether the invasion of Light from a parallel Draenor – through the Light Portal and a fanatical Turalyon taking control of the Alliance in Anduin’s absence – will be the subject of the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion.

Returning to Final Fantasy XIV, the following event was a bridge to the Stormblood events. The Griffin’s Twist – I really should have guessed who it was before I ran into the boss in the dungeon; I had all the clues in front of me. But it was fantastic, as was his multi-layered strategy: virtually every good guy move was anticipated and played in his advantage, which was brilliant.

And whatever it took to get rid of Yda and Urianger’s masks, Urianger was forced to return to his hideous costume. Yda’s secret was unnecessary, and I believe they went far with it.

Overall, the narrative does not disappoint: another “season” and “arc” was enjoyed, and the group material is just as creative and entertaining to deal with as before. But first, I need to catch up with my alternate.

Concerning Employment

As you know, I dislike tanking and healing since they are too responsible positions for me, and they don’t allow me to appreciate monster and dungeon design because when you’re distracted, the party suffers. As a healer, you can’t glance around the dungeon since you’re too preoccupied with health bars and keeping up with the tank. A dps, at the very least, may make mistakes, even die, and feel more free in general – in FFXIV, it’s mainly about striking hard, dodging boss aoe, and killing adds, which is fairly self-explanatory.

In FFXIV, I have even less desire to play tanks and healers than in WoW. Dungeons and raids are one-time events, at least while leveling, and spending 5 minutes researching strategies to avoid failing the group just to spend the same 5 minutes in the dungeon and never return is a waste of time. So, seven occupations are out of the question, plain and simple.

I now have two toons: a Miqo’te dragoon (who will be a melee toon) and a Lalafell black mage (to-be ranged toon).

My Dragoon is one of my favorite characters; it does a fantastic job with its complicated rotation, strong and slow strikes, a lot of preparation, and overall excellent and satisfying animations. Did I mention that I’ve always been a sucker for spears, and despite the fact that they’ve never been the greatest weapon in any game, I’ve always attempted to utilize them? It’s a blessing from the gods to have a spear-only class.

I’m mildly – mildly – interested in Samurai as a melee dps job, and that’s it. No, I’m not interested in playing as a monk or a ninja. So, if I’m bored, I may try samurai, but for the most part, I’m ok with thinking of her as a dragoon knight.

It’s a little more complicated with ranged toons, like as my Lalafell. I’ve always preferred ranged dps classes, and the archer/bard is the only one that doesn’t appeal to me here. Black mage is easy and funny, and I’d want to keep it up for the time being for EXPLOOOSHUN. Even still, it’s very sluggish (part of the fun) — compared to black mage, WoW’s destro warlock seems like a machine gun. And squishy, which is a disease that plagues mages throughout the games. I can’t fathom how I’d get it through any of the leveling gauntlets with my dragoon, but we’ll see.

I’m interested in Summoner, but can you tell me whether I may retain this ghost squirrel till I reach level cap? It seems like a waste of effort if it turns to some hefty demon as I get more spells.

And – I’m currently leveling up my Machinist job, which is fantastic. So far, I’ve like everything about my work, right down to the last detail. Gunslinging is cool, but steampunk gunslinging is even cooler, and it plays quickly and logically. So, once I arrive in Heavensward, that’ll be my Lalafell.

I attempted Palace of the Dead, which is supposed to be the quickest route to level – and it was just as revolting as Torghast. I’d put up with that if it quickly leveled me up; thus far, I’ve only done two runs and received one level (machinist begins at 30), so we’ll see. I’ve studied leveling guidelines and decided to experiment to find what works best.

That’ll do it for this week; see you next week.
