Wowhead Economy Weekly Wrap-Up 201 – Patch 9.1.5 and the Economy

Last updated November 18, 2021 | Follow us on Pinterest

An overview of the week’s changes to WoW, including patch 9.1.5 and the economy!

The “9.1 5 datamine” is the patch that was released on January 10th, 2019. It introduced many new features and changes to the game. The “Economy Weekly Wrap-Up 201 – Patch 9.1.5 and the Economy.”

Weekly Economic Update in World of Warcraft Hello! The 201st episode of the WoW Economy Weekly Wrap-up is here!

My name is Samadan, and I’m a content maker that specializes in leveraging Professions and TSM to make money. On YouTube, I have a variety of tutorials, and I also broadcast my trips on Twitch.

If you’d like to join in and raise any questions, I’ll be covering the piece live on my Twitch broadcast immediately after it’s published.

On www.twitch.tv, you may watch live footage from Samadan.

In 9.1.5, let the gold flow!

9.1.5 is now available! For many players, this is an excellent moment to return to WoW since the vast array of quality of life enhancements, particularly for alts, means that there is a wide variety of things to do for players, particularly those who prefer the casual side of things.

This implies alts from a gold-making standpoint… A LOT of alts will be made, leveled, and equipped. Our goal as gold manufacturers is to give these alts with goods that will make their trip simpler.

Hikons has released some preliminary data from mostly Legendary markets, and there is a definite uptick in sales, which is encouraging for those that bought early.

The Lazy Goldmaker also has a video where he talks about his ideas as well as some TBC Classic talk…

Tokens for Follower XP are now BoA!

The Champion XP tokens are now Bind on Account, which is fantastic for people who wish to construct an alternate army for task tables. This implies that characters that are well-established and maxed out may pass on their benefits to alts with fewer friends…

This is a significant shift for mission table players.

However, it is only BOA if you obtain it after 9.1.5.

With one follower, you may route them to a new 60. Increase the level of that follower to 60 for level 60 minions, and then have those minions carry all of your level 1 followers through tasks.

On the Character Select Screen, there is a Mail Icon.

Another plus for goldmakers managing sales and characters is that the mail icon on the character choice screen is now functional.

This is everything I’ve been longing for for YEARS!!!

If you’re looking for gold-making ideas in 9.1.5, Thraun Gaming has a wonderful list of proposals that includes anything from Legendaries to Crafter Mark gear to lesser-known marketplaces…

Wish List for the Auction House

u/hotsyhots has been contemplating the Auction House and the changes they’d want to see…

I like the new AH, but I believe it might need a few more improvements to be even great! My suggestions are as follows:

  • Add 1 week, 2 weeks, and/or 1 month posting durations. Some products sell really slowly, and it would be wonderful to be able to leave them up for extended periods of time rather than needing to repost every two days.
  • Allow players to pick additional listings of that item to buy them out from the sale window. This would make it easier for users to do simple flips or resets using the native UI, making gold more accessible. It would also make it much easier to locate an item to purchase if you already have one in your bag and don’t want to type, making replenishing for crafting a breeze.
  • Use portion of the empty area on the sale window to include buttons with pre-selected values (500g, 5g, etc.) that players may click instead of putting in what price to sell an item for, allowing users to post items with only one click.
  • Appearance Tooltip is a current add-on that shows clothing and item models in the tool tip. It would be simpler for players to look for interesting transmog if this was baked into core functionality (with choices to activate it). This would benefit both buyers and vendors.
  • Improving the default posting pricing is a good idea. It’s a huge one, and it’s undoubtedly divisive, but the default pricing are so low that it’s simple for individuals who don’t use add-ons to offer products for considerably less than they’re worth. This also implies that inexperienced players, who are unfamiliar with current market values, are more inclined to submit very low prices, relying on the game’s recommended pricing. If you travel about servers and look at AHs, you’ll notice that new player servers have more misposted things or commodities at ridiculously low rates since the default UI implies a few silver.

What modifications to the AH would you want to see?

These are all excellent suggestions that would greatly improve the AH’s overall usefulness. There were a few other recommendations as well…

I don’t have much, but I want 24 hour cooldowns, 24 hour posts, 48 hour postings, and other similar tasks could be completed half an hour earlier. So, if you usually get in after supper and just want to collect + repost your auctions, you may do so. Because of this, I normally run 12-hour auctions, although I’d like 23/47.

A buy order option, either from the auction window or from a scribe, would be fantastic. Let’s pretend I want something manufactured that isn’t on the AH (or when it is, its ridiculously overpriced). I may place a purchase order for it at the price I choose. That is how much it costs me to publish.

Someone is going through the purchase orders, notices that I want something created that they can do, does some fast arithmetic to determine whether it’s worth their time, then fills my request. They receive some fast cash, and I get my stuff.

There are most likely a slew of difficulties with this procedure. I’m too weary to go into detail right now, but that’s the idea of it.

My Top 3:

First in, first out (FIFO): This goes hand in hand with the other adjustments, but FIFO is used on most trading exchanges across the globe. The first to list at a certain price is also the first to be exchanged.

The advertised minimum price for an item may be far more than what it is actually exchanged for in the public trade log. Especially when we only receive a glimpse of the item pricing for one hour. We can generate genuine candlestick charts on the undermine journal with a public trade log of all deals (time, item, price). In TSM, we can exactly calculate 14MA. We are unable to do so at this time.

buy limit orders: A buyer’s capacity to choose a price at which they are willing to purchase anything. This is sufficient to counteract cancel scans and improve the market on its own. You can calculate the bid-ask spread, which is a liquidity indication. The cancel scan race is brought to a halt when purchase orders are limited. You come near to the purchasers at some point, and instead of continuing the cancel scan race, you may just switch tactics and sell to the buyer.

These kind of concepts, when combined with our Profession ideas from last week, would provide for a fascinating in-depth economic experience (even more than we have already)

What would you want to see at the Auction House added or changed?

Making Gold Goals

This week, u/Gumdrops presented an intriguing topic concerning gold making goals…

I haven’t seen many recent articles from younger gold-makers wanting to get into the WoW market – does this suggest that the majority of readers are already established and producing the gold they desire?

What are you working on right now? Are you close to earning enough money to buy your first token, or are you on the verge of purchasing a Swift Spectral Tiger?

As you can anticipate, the responses are many and diverse…

My primary objective in gold mining isn’t to produce gold. I know it’s strange, but I got started because someone took advantage of the market by buying out all of the gems shortly before raids ended and reselling them for 500 percent more than their pre-raid worth. Now we call it clever, but it’s always struck me as a step too far.

I attempt to maintain harder-to-get items on the market at reasonable prices and then assist players when I can. Because my guild was having problems with the main legendary system, I utilized my income to outfit the raid squad. I’ve purchased gaming time for those who are doing everything right in life but can’t pay the subscription fee. A mount for someone who was fresh to the game and didn’t realize it existed but fit their personality. I don’t simply toss the gold at people; I speak to them first to make sure they’re genuine (it’s terrible to admit that some people take advantage of compassion, but that’s life), and then I find out what I can do to give them the pat on the back they need to get through the day.

At this point, I suppose my objective is to do the best I can to bring some good into the world. I have enough gold to sustain me for as long as I want to play the game, and I’m steadily increasing it via creating while having my morning coffee. Unfortunately, gold prospecting has become equivalent to my morning crossword problem. It’s just something to do to stimulate the mind. It’s a plus if it can help others with the gold it creates.

I just finished my first gold cap. The short-term target is $100 million. Following that, I’d want to become a wow billionaire. Picked up all the tcg mounts and pets along the route.

To earn ten million dollars while having fun along the way. Make the trip and the lessons you gain along the way more essential than the end goal:)

For me, I believe the final one from Erosium puts it up well. Even if I don’t have a certain objective in mind, the learning and pleasure trip is really rewarding. Goals, on the other hand, help us concentrate our time, and the rewards at the end are often enticing.

Fixes for Filthy Pet Bugs

The long-banned Flithling Pet drop rate has seemingly been corrected, according to WTBGold!

Keep an eye on the market for these, as there are sure to be significant price cuts in the near future. At the conclusion of the video, he also has some intriguing comments about wow loot.

DalaGG, the co-creator of the WorthIT addon, has been considering a new extension to assist fellow gold creators…

Hello, everyone!

For you all, I’ve been working on a fun little project. Last year, when I was browsing the internet, it occurred to me that why don’t we have Gold Guides in the game?

This would undoubtedly be more beneficial for producing gold. So, after a year of procrastination and some brainstorming, I finally did it.

By compiling all of the guides I’ve published throughout the years. I combined them into a gold guide addon for the game. With beginner’s tutorials, intermediate guides for experienced gold producers, and some of my TSM strings. We now have an in-game gold producing guide addon, WorthIt Guides, which is currently available on Curseforge… original, I know. 😀

Further information:

However, this isn’t the whole story. The techniques and strategies of one gold miner are not the be-all and end-all of gold mining. Because different gold producers have different perspectives on how to manufacture gold, I’d want to convert this into a community endeavor.

The objective is to combine all gold instructions contributed by community members and create a compendium of gold producing strategies and guidelines that may be used to generate gold now and in the future. You may do this by just DMing me, and your username will be credited in the tutorial. Which brings me to the rest of the features.

Moving Forward: I’ll be looking at adding profession leveling to the addon next week. Also considering providing an Importable Routes Library that anybody may contribute to.

Summery: The addon is currently available for download on Curseforge. This is presently classified as an Alpha since it is far from finished. However, I’m really looking forward to getting started on this extension.

If you have any views or feedback, I’m happy to respond through email, YouTube, or Discord.

DalaGG (Jon) wishes you all the best in your gold mining endeavors:)

P.s. The goal is to make sure it works before making it seem nice:)

This is a fantastic concept for bringing the community together and exchanging information so that we can all discover new techniques to generate gold.

Classic Flipping Challenge at TBC

Moving on to Classic for the last section, NicB has launched a fantastic series on how to make $10,000 in gold just by flipping and playing the Auction House…
